Is This Thing On?

Hi, I’m Jennifer. After blogging for work for a number of years, it feels strange to write whatever I want. In a good way.

I’m starting this blog because I think I can add something unique and special to all of the baking blogs out there. Not because I’m an expert, because I’m definitely not, but because I think we need more weird, funny, and all around awesome cookies in the world.

Don’t get me wrong, I love all things cute too (and am guilty of making all kinds of cute and girly sweets):

Lovely fireplace cookies that took FOREVER to make = cute (and kind of awesome)

But, baked goods can also be trendy, funny, and all-around awesome.

I’ve gathered loads of ideas and I’m so excited to share them with you! I’ll also be sharing fabulously, decadent treats too – ones that don’t look like something else, not even another kind of food. Just cookies being cookies and cakes being cakes. Keepin’ it real.

You see that I have also dabbled in cake making as well, and will probably be sharing those endeavors too. Yes, I know this blog is called “Not Your Momma’s Cookie.” But, “Not Your Momma’s Variations of Any Kind of Sweet Treat” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it, no? So, you’ll be seeing all kinds of yummy sweets here (including lots of cookies).
