Can you say that you love a musical that you’ve never seen? I think you can. If I love the soundtrack, I think that I would love the show – the soundtrack is the heart of a musical, after all! So, even though I’ve never actually seen it, I’m presenting awesome Book of Mormon treats for the next 2, count ‘em, TWO weeks! Even if you’re not a Book of Mormon fan, or have never heard of this incredible musical, you will still enjoy all of the yummy stuff coming up.
And, if you want a little dose of the show, I present the uber-adorable Andrew Rannells preforming at the Tony Awards last year (there is a bleeped curse word – you are warned, the faint of heart):
What can I say? I’m a sucker for a politically incorrect musical.

I love “The Book of Mormon”. My daughter & I can’t wait until they let us buy tickets for the show when it’s here in September. It’ll be fun to see what you come up with this theme.
btw…I saw the pirated play on YouTube before it was taken down. It’s a good show! Some songs can be a little shocking (considering the source) when taken out of context on the sound track but it makes sense within the play as a whole.
Thanks, Debbie! I’m going to try to snag tickets when the tour comes to D.C., but I secretly dream about buying the incredibly expensive premium tickets and trying to go up to NY for a weekend trip.
And, since I love the soundtrack and everything that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have ever done, I know I’ll love the show
I would need some kind hearted Theatre Fairy to get those awesome premium tickets. It’s been forever since I’ve been to NY and my daughter never has been. Too bad too since she’s a singer (her major in college) and has done some musical theatre. As for dad…we’ll just leave him at home unless he’s willing to see the plays we want to see without any complaints…LOL.
stumbled upon your blog thru other sugar cookie peeps, and I am loving the Book of Mormon vibe going on! Can I share a story? My mom loved to invite the cute missionary boys in for ice water (since tea, cola and booze were off limits). I came home from high school one day to find these teethy, gorgeous guys yakking it up with my mom and almost died….I had these fantasies of the best looking prom date ever! My mom knew exactly what I was thinking and started talking about all the “no’s” and watched my face fall as I learned about their way of life. This party girl high school girl cleared out in a hurry! But to this day, I invite them in! Great kids.
Haha – what a fantastic story! I came home a couple weeks ago to a LDS flyer and I was sad that I missed them
I took my wife to NY in December and made sure to get tickets several months in advance. The show was the best we saw while in town and couldn’t recommend it more to anyone who has a chance to see it. Definitely the sweetest, most vulgar, and hopeful show ever!
This makes me even more excited to see it one day! I’d love to see it in NY, but we may have to wait for the tour to come to DC. Either way, we are definitely going to see it!
