Girly Zombie Brain Cookies

You can’t have zombies without brains!

Well, you can I guess, but then you have hungry zombies…and no one wants a hungry zombie.

So, let’s make some brains!

These are way easier than they look – promise!

Girly Brain Cookies

Ingredients:

  • Pumpkin shaped cookies
  • Black icing, piping consistency
  • Grey icing, stiff piping consistency
  • Royal icing transfer bows (see directions here from zombie girl post)
  • Pastry bag, couplers, and #2 and #3 tips

1. Outline the brain shape with black icing using a #2 tip. Let dry for about an hour to minimize color bleeding.

2. Begin piping random groups of zig zag lines within one half of the brain with the stiff, gray icing and a #3 tip- the more random, the better!

3. Repeat on the other side. You can certainly try to mimic the same pattern on the other side, but to make my life easier, I chose to make each section random. It’s up to you!

4. Fill in the brain stem – that sounds gross, doesn’t it? – and then add a bow while the gray icing is wet.

Ta da! A brain fit for a zombie debutante.

This is beyond awesome! I have no gift for using royal icing, but I might just give this one a try anyway!

I think they are much easier than they look – especially since it is all random, no pressure for perfection! :)
