white header blogiversary

Well, today is the one year anniversary of this little blog o’ mine. What a year it is has been! Here are some fun stats:

173 blog posts (50 of them include sugar cookie designs)

3,282 comments. You guys like to chat and I love to reply!

1 blog theme change

24,478: the largest number of pageviews in one day

156 recipe development disasters (approximate – it feels like that many!)

3755% traffic increase from inception last January 2012  to May 2012 (this was quite a surprise!)

2 cookie scoops owned (and 2 aprons)

14 posts with no comments, including my first post! (also my Edward Cupcakes, Danish Apple Cake, and my Wicked Green Elixer)

3,211 Facebook fans

50-70 pictures taken per dessert for the 1-2 that make it to the blog (I take fewer pictures for sugar cookies!). No lie. I change my mind a lot!

3: the number of times the blog has crashed due to a sudden traffic increase

2,434 pins on Pinterest…and counting!

The best of this blog? You. So, I want to know what you think. Please take a second to leave me a comment on what you would like to see on the blog.  Would you like to see more regular desserts? Do you have a super awesome sugar cookie idea? Want to see fewer cat pictures on instagram? (can’t make any promises on that one). Seriously, I want to know what you think! You can also shoot me an email at jennifer@notyourmommascookie.com. I love getting emails!

Thank you all for a truly fabulous year. You guys are the best!

As for suggestions for future posts, I think I’m inclined to more sugar cookies. :)

Congratulations on an amazing 1st year! I’ve been at it a year and 3 months and I could only dream of stats like that. You are pretty darn cool.

I love your mixture of recipes and cookies. It’s a nice blend. Your cookies are out of this world so like Mike said definitely more cookies.

I’m a new cookie baker you can say! I mostly bake cakes and other sweets. For sure going to continue to follow you and learn from you. If there isn’t a post, maybe suggest something for beginners? What to buy and where to start.
Cheers to another amazing year for you!!!

Happy Anniversary! I have you to thank for turning me on to new things and affirming my television addictions to Walking Dead, Downton Abby, Glee, Project Runway and of course let’s not forget the Hunger Games, Elf , Twilight and The Book of Mormon. Seriously, when I found your blog I finally wore my love of TV proudly. I still haven’t ventured into making them into cookies, I’ll leave that to you! I marathoned the Downton Abby in 2 days last week and actually watched most of Season 3…apparently it has already aired in the UK…hang on to your bowler!!!!!

Reply

29 Jennifer January 20, 2013 at 9:11 am

So glad I could justify your TV addictions! ;) And, I’m totally excited for the next Downton episode tonight – poor, little Edith! She can’t catch a break, can she?

Thanks so much for being a reader, Susie :)

I had mentioned in my survey that I am now using decorated cookies as part of our tablescape for special occasions (Fall, Christmas …) and am looking forward to being inspired for Valentines (well February) for our guests.

I should through out the year, but don’t have enough different cutters ;) (my story and sticking to it like glue!).

Love your blog/inspired by your cookies and photos.
