A Brief Blogging Hiatus

On Saturday morning, my stepfather (who I blogged about here) had a heart attack. As soon as my husband and I got word, we threw clothes (hoping they were clean) and whatever else we could think of into a suitcase and started the 3 1/2  hour drive to the hospital. I was nauseous the whole way. We made it there right after he got out of emergency triple bypass surgery. He made it through and now we wait.

He’s not out of the woods, but everyone has been impressed with his progress. We’re not surprised though, anyone that knows him knows that he is, above all things, a fighter.

For now, I will be staying with my Mom in Maryland for as long as I can, so I don’t know exactly when I’ll return to my regular blogging schedule. Thank you all for understanding.

To each of you, please make sure that everyone you cherish in your life knows how much they mean to you. It can all end so suddenly.

So glad to hear that he is doing ok. My dad had triple bypass surgery about 5 years ago, it is a slow recovery. Fortunately they caught my dad’s problem before he had a heart attack. Sending positive thoughts to you and your family!

Jennifer, sorry to hear about your step dad’s illsness. It’s wonderful that they were able to catch things before they got worse. If its any consolation, don’t know how old he is, but I too had bypass surgery, quadruple when I was 50. The best part of it is that I’m still here and going strong, 18 years later. Once all is said and done, your step Dad may feel better than he has in years. So be thankful he’s here and hopefully you will enjoy your time with them while your there. You are in my thoughts.

Worrying about the situation doesn’t solve problems, let’s face it. Worrying says we have no faith in GOD. Worrying says let’s give up hope and stay in unbelief. In my own personal setbacks worrying kept me back until I put my trust in GOD. Like you said your dad is a trooper you have to be one too. If hard to see our love ones go through pain and our hands is tied and you get frustrated cause you want to do so much more, that’s when you have to keep the faith in GOD AND let Him do the rest. I will keep your dad and the family in my prayers. Stay Strong and the keep the FAITH!
