Most Popular Recipes of 2013

**WHOOSH**

Did you hear that? That was 2013 rushing by. Can you believe it?

2013 was an eventful year for me personally. From my stepfather’s heart attack to the pregnancy and birth of Seraphina, 2013 had it’s ups and downs. And while my husband and I are still in the trenches during this newborn phase, I know that at the end of 2014, she will be a wholly different, little person and I’ll wonder how it went by so fast. But, truthfully, I can’t wait to see her grow in the next year. And plan her first birthday party! Any theme ideas?

With all of the personal excitement, this blog suffered. I’ll admit it. Something that brought me so much joy had become a burden as I found myself needing to focus my energy elsewhere. And now, with a newborn, I wonder how will I keep up?

But, I have to. I want to. I have put so much of myself in this blog. I have “met” some amazing bloggers, amazing people. I have pushed the limits of my creativity. I have worked so hard.

So, rest assured that the blog is here to stay! I may not be able to post as often as I would like, but I promise to try my best.

Anyway – onto the sweets! Here are the 10 most popular posts of 2013.

Did your favorite make the list? I was surprised that no sugar cookies made the list (even though I know I didn’t post as many this year). I still love my Downton Abbey cookies!

Cannot wait for Downton to come back! I am resisting searching the English runs online like I did last year. I got to the last episode and had no one to console me!!! How fun it will be to see Seraphina in a year…walking, babbling, eating….it happens pretty fast!!! Happy New Year!

I’m so excited for Downton Abbey too!

I thought about that today – that Seraphina will be SO different in just one year. I’m so excited for it (and ready for the toughest days to be over), but then I have to remember to cherish her now…she will never be this little again!

Love seeing your most popular recipes in one post. Congrats on the new baby! My niece just turned 1 year old on Dec 25 and she’s having a Minnie Mouse themed party. I’m not sure how my sister got the idea but it’s a classic nonetheless. I hope you have a happy and healthy 2014!

What Bates didn’t make the top 10?? Those are my favorite cookies of yours and I must re-pin to make sure more people see them lol! I think that’s actually how I found your blog on Pinterest almost a year ago. So glad I did!! Happy New Year! I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings for you.

PS: Don’t worry about blog. We will always be here. You have lots of change to adjust to right now!

Your “Free Bates” cookies were a favorite of mine this year! I’m super surprised they didn’t crack the top ten. I have plans to do some Downton Abbey cookies soon and will definitely link them up so they’ll get more exposure at least. :) Hope you have a Happy 2014!

**Whoosh** is right! This year has indeed flown by. I’m shocked nothing Snickerdoodle made your list but can see how people loved all these other creative recipes. Your Nutella treats made a good showing, as they should! I wouldn’t worry about the blog. (Listen to me trying to tell you not to worry. I worry about mine while writing a cookbook and think I don’t post enough! But, really, we shouldn’t worry. It’s not good for us.) I’m with the others who mentioned it…cannot wait for Downton! Although, I’m still miffed one of my favorite characters won’t be returning. Ha! Thanks for sharing this awesome roundup. Once again…Happy New Year, my friend!

Oh yes, I can’t wait for Downton! With my baby-induced zombie status, I totally forgot about it coming back in a couple days – on my husband and I’s wedding anniversary, no less!

I love your stuffed cakes, cookies and cupcakes! I really want to make one of the shape hidden inside cupcakes. I tried once without any directions, and ended up with a mess. I am using your directions next time! Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Maybe I will start with those…and then work my way down your list! :)
I will look forward to your Seraphina and/or food posts whenever they appear!

Thanks, Wendy! They are so fun to make, and once you get the basic steps down, they can work for any occasion! :) The star spangled cupcake post has the most in-depth tutorial – I’m pretty sure it is linked to in each of the “surprise inside” cupcakes!
