Ultimate Easter Magic Cookie Bars by Not Your Momma's Cookie

Easter is totally upstaging my birthday this year.

With Easter on March 31st and my 30th birthday on April 2nd, it has been difficult to plan something around everyone’s going-home-to-see-family/stuffing-their-faces-with-chocolate-bunnies schedule.

But, I forgive Easter. Because of Cadbury eggs (both creme filled and mini), PEEPS, most of all, Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, the best tasting shape of all of the holiday shapes. Don’t ask me why. It just is.  [Keep reading…]

Peep's Magician's Hat Marshmallow Bites

I think “magic” is awesome. Mainly because I lack the common sense to understand how magic tricks are preformed.

You know those “behind the magic” shows where they show you the mechanics behind magic tricks? They show you magic trick and, deep down, I always think “There is no way they could do that. It must be magic! It must be! They are totally going to say, “Just kidding! It was magic all along.”

And, then they show you how’s it done and I feel like an idiot for not being to figure it out in the first place.

Portmagee Harbor, on the Ring of Kerry

We spent two weeks driving around Ireland’s West coast (on the opposite side of the road!), enjoying awe-inspiring scenery, TONS of sheep, and truly fabulous food. I’ll be making a couple treats for St. Patrick’s Day and sharing some pictures and maybe even a couple funny videos of our Irish adventure. [Keep reading…]

Easter Egg Hunt Pound Cake by Not Your Momma's Cookie

Sometimes, I think I’ve made up childhood memories. Case in point: Easter egg hunts.

I feel I’ve done one before. But, honestly, I can’t remember one. So, I’m wondering if I’ve somehow convinced myself that I did, indeed, participate in this annual Easter ritual. That I just imagined myself in a frilly dress, hunting around the yard for brightly colored eggs and now, as an adult, I believe it to be true.

Fluffernutter Cookies by Not Your Momma's Cookie

I had never heard of a Fluffernutter until I met my husband.

As a Southern girl, I was perfectly content with a regular, ‘ol PB&J sandwich. But, my New England husband insisted on keeping marshmallow fluff in the house for Fluffernutter sandwiches.

At first, I wasn’t convinced. I mean, a marshmallow and peanut butter sandwich? Gross. [Keep reading…]
