Elementary, My Dear Cupcake
Meet Horatio and Nigel, the rich, British cupcakes. They say things like, “Jolly good,” “poppycock,” and “indubitably.” They enjoy counting their money, Monty Python, and guffawing.
I can’t take the credit for this clever design. I’m a big fan of Perpetual Kid, an online store for wonderfully entertaining, awesome things. They had a promotion during February to send a handwritten Valentine’s Day card to anyone who signed up. How fun, right? I got a hilariously inappropriate card from Calvin (P.S. Thanks Calvin!). But, I was drawn to the little graphic on the envelope:

I debated posting this recipe. It has a million steps, it is not easy, and I’m not even thrilled with the way it came out (even though it tastes wonderful). But, sometimes it is all about how you measure your own success. I can be hard on myself when things don’t come out how I imagined, so this is good therapy for me, I think. To show that something can be a success and worth sharing even when it is not perfect. Plus, I didn’t want to waste a kind of awesome blog title.

She’s Just Not That Into You
Truth be told, I’m not a Hallmark-holiday hater. In fact, I’ll take just about any reason to celebrate if it means presents (or great food). Valentine’s Day, though, seems to be a rather brutal holiday. Asking someone to be your Valentine is serious business, the result of which could be incredible joy or crushing disappointment.
