Shark Week is upon us!!
You knew I was going to make Shark Week desserts again, didn’t you? I can’t help myself! Because sharks are awesome and I can’t help but get creative when a good theme is involved.
Luckily, I’ve had no encounters with sharks in my lifetime, except seeing them rip apart other living things on TV. So, for a truly fabulous Shark Week snack, I created this super easy and delicious Shark Bait Popcorn (including ripped apart Swedish Fish – but, no worries, no candies were harmed in the making of this popcorn).
Stay tuned for other Shark Week treats this week, including something that rhymes with Markfado…Barktado….Narkshado? Oh, what oh what could it be…
- 6-8 cups of popcorn, popped
- ¾ cup white chocolate chips
- ¾ cup Swedish Fish, cut in half
- ½ cup Reese’s Pieces
- Spread popcorn on a parchment paper lined jelly roll pan.
- Melt white chocolate chips according to package directions. Drizzle over popcorn.
- Sprinkle Reese’s Pieces and Swedish Fish pieces evenly over popcorn.
- Enjoy!
Check out my other Shark Week treats!

I love shark week! This snack will be in my hands tonight as I watch. Thanks for the recipe;) Can’t wait to see what rhymes with Markfao, Barktado & Narkshado! Hehehe
Thanks, Lisa! I was so excited to see your Shark Week cookies today – absolute perfection!
Love this! Love the other shark week treats too! They’re awesome!
Thank you!
Shark week is my favorite week on Discovery. I love all your themed desserts! I can’t believe I didn’t think to make a theme dessert, but at least I have your amazing ones to choose from!
Thank you, Faith! I love themes
I love Shark Week too! My Dad and I always watched it together when I was little! Cute snack idea. I love adding other things to buttery popcorn. I will definitely be trying it out.
Thanks, Carrie!
Too gruesome! This popcorn mix, I can do while pretending they are just sweet little goldfish. But blood in the water cupcakes and chewed up surf boards cookies….I am such a baking wimp!
(Though I will admit that both the cupcakes and the surf boards look amazing!)
Haha, I understand, Wendy!
I have never seen shark week, but it’s all anyone is talking about. I have to check it out! It’s been way too long since I’ve had Swedish Fish – they are so yummy!
My husband made sure to get extra Swedish Fish so he could munch on them
Hahaha! Jennifer, you had me at, “including ripped apart Swedish Fish”, LOL! Just loving this creative “Shark Bait Popcorn”. Will be pinning to my popcorn board and group boards at Pinterest. All Mom’s will love this recipe for the kiddos! What’s not to love about Shark Week over here at NoYoMoCo? Love the “Blood in the Water” cupcakes! And, those shark bitten surfboard cookies TOTALLY ROCK! xo
Thanks so much, Stacy!
I’ve got more Shark Week goodness on the way – I hope you like it!
Yay for shark week
ahahahaaaa omg so cute!
Thanks, Kayle!
Haha, I have to say I love the addition of Swedish fish in the shark bait popcorn! (I’m from Sweden
) Yay, so excited for snack time!!
Yay for Swedish fish! I got to visit Stockholm last year on a Baltic cruise, but we were only there one day. But, seriously, what a wonderful country!
Love these! The swedish fish are PERFECT.
Thanks, Mimi!
I love your bitten surfboard cookies, but swedish fish as part of any treat make it a personal fave! I used to buy swedish fish for a penny each at the snack shack at our town’s baseball fields. Wha?! I sound ancient, right?!
Haha, my husband LOVES Swedish Fish, so he was all over these!
How stinkin’ cute is this?! I mean, terrifying. Sharks should be terrifying, not cute. Anyway, this is totally a snack worth celebrating with!
Haha – I think they can be cute AND terrifying!
Such a great snack to enjoy while being slightly scared of sharks…, down the Florida, shark touched my leg, it scared the hell out of me.
Oh, I would have freaked out, Hani! One of my best friends is scared of open water (like rivers and oceans) for that very reason. She’s ok with swimming pools though
I always look forward to this week and you just came up with the perfect snack for it. (again!) Speaking of looking forward… I can’t wait to see what else you have planned to share with us! Darkpotato?
Curses, how did you guess!?
These pop corns are so much fun. I love your sharky inspiration.
Thank you, Amy!
You are so clever…I love when you do a theme to some TV guilty pleasure show! Really looking forward to the fall programs to start!
Oh, me too! I may have a treat in the works for Breaking Bad…so excited for that one!
What a perfectly fun snack for shark week!
Thank you, Sue!
These are all such fun ideas – I can’t believe I’ve missed shark week! I will celebrate through your creations!!
Thanks, Kim!
This is adorable!!! I need to get into shark week. My husband’s not into it, weirdly enough.
They really do have some fascinating shows about sharks – it’s not all silliness
This is such a cute idea! I love those surfboard cookies too! I wish I had half your creativity. I wouldn’t mind munching on some ripped apart Swedish Fish right NOW.
Aww, thanks! I struggled this week (creativity-wise), but I’m trying my best! I’m excited for Friday’s treat – it just needs a little more work, but I think it will a popular one
(today’s will be pretty fun too!)
Smile. I love shark week…and I love popcorn. Clearly, this is a win win for me! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks, Monet!
Hahahaha okay, this is the cutest themed week EVER, Jennifer. This shark bait popcorn looks to-die for, and I’d gladly sumo wrestle a shark for it.
Also what’s funny, is that your related posts right above have all other shark week-inspired desserts.. and then one pink, pretty easter recipe, lol. Those poor bunnies never stood a chance against the sharks.
Haha – I know, I really have no idea how they decide what is “related.” Because, frequently, they’re not, at all!
